The Association of Trading Companies and Manufacturers of Electrical and Computer Equipment (RATEK), which includes Apple, Google, Samsung, LG and others, has asked for a postponement of the pre-installation of Russian software on smartphones.
Companies are confident that by July 1, 2020, this is “impossible”, so they insist on moving the deadline to January 1, 2021. Relevant comments and suggestions have already been sent to the FAS.
It should also be excluded from the list of prerequisite applications for audio-visual services, since they contain in-app purchases.
We consider it unacceptable to impose such categories of software on consumers.
– from the statement of RATEK
In addition, RATEC believes that a unified registry of programs to be installed is needed. And Russian applications can be mandatory for preinstallation only if its analogues, including foreign ones, already exist.
Plus, RATEK insists that the manufacturer should not be held responsible for the software that the state obliged to put on smartphones. And the requirement for the complete removal of all firmware is unacceptable. [ Kommersant ]
