Apple will invest $ 330 million in the factory for the production of MicroLED-screens

Apple intends to invest $ 330 million in Taiwan’s LED and MicroLED screen factory. This is reported by the CENS resource. The Cupertian Corporation will create a new factory together with Taiwanese display manufacturers Epistar and AU Optronics.

Displays will be used in future iPhone, iPad, Macbook and other Apple products. The corporation has already sent specialists to Taiwan to work on the factory. Screens with new technology should appear already in Apple Watch 6 (not officially introduced) and the future update of the 16-inch Macbook Pro.

Among the advantages of MicroLED are: better brightness, viewing angle, power consumption and color range compared to OLED.

First, Apple will use miniLED screens, a kind of transitional step between a conventional LED and microLED.
