Benchmarks of the tenth generation Intel Core i5

The Chinese resource Bilibili posted the test results of the tenth generation Intel Core i5 processor, in which the new product is compared with the ninth generation Core i5 and the older model Core i7.

The Core i5-10400 model received six cores, the base frequency is 2.9 GHz (if necessary, one core can accelerate to 4.3 GHz, and all up to 4 GHz evenly). New consumes 65 watts. The stated price is $ 180. The processor was set against the six-core Core i5-9400F (2.9 GHz and 4.1 GHz in boost) and the Core i7-9700F with eight cores (3 GHz by default and 4.7 GHz maximum).

Novelty effortlessly beat the i5 of the previous generation, and in some places even caught up with the Core i7. For example, in one of the tests, the new processor scored 129 points, and the ninth generation Core i7 – 128.

In GTA 5 and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey games with Full HD resolution, the Intel Core i5-10400 showed slightly better results compared to older processors: 129 fps for the new GTA 5 (128 fps in Core i7 and 122 fps in the ninth generation Core i5) and 67 fps in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey versus 65 fps in Core i7 and 63 fps in the ninth generation Core i5.

Intel recently introduced the tenth-generation (Comet Lake-S) line of processors based on Skylake’s previous architecture. The top solution is the ten-core Core i9-10900K with a frequency of 3.7 GHz (5.3 GHz in overclocking for one core) and a price tag of almost $ 490. And the line begins with the quad-core Core i3-10100 (4.3 GHz with boost) for $ 122.
