Apple placed an order to supply OLED screens with an integrated touch recognition sensor, Gizmochina reports with reference to ETNews . Moving to new technology will make displays thinner.

Now Apple’s flagship smartphones are equipped with OLED screens, to which the thinnest layer is separately attached – it is it that recognizes the touch on the display. The new displays Apple is looking for a supplier for are immediately equipped with touch recognition sensors. Thus, the interlayer is no longer required, and the displays will be thinner than the current ones.

At the same time, the next line of iPhone, which will be presented this fall, will receive the usual OLED displays. According to the latest information, three Apple smartphones will receive OLED screens: their diagonals will be 5.4, 6.1 and 6.7 inches. Also, another smartphone will be with IPS-matrix.
