Is it possible to disable Spotlight search on iPhone lock screen in iOS 15
After updating to iOS 15, my devices started showing search on the lock screen. When I often twist the smartphone in my hands, the screen may turn on and it will start searching for some data. Can this feature be disabled?
Adding Spotlight search to the smartphone’s lock screen is a highly controversial decision in iOS 15 . Given that the smartphone’s display can turn on when touched, sometimes the gadget itself starts looking for some data, according to a request accidentally entered on the screen.
Unfortunately, it is impossible to completely disable this feature, you can only make it inoperable until the gadget is unlocked.
How to turn off Spotlight on a locked iPhone
1. Go to Settings – Face ID & Passcode (on an iPhone with Face ID) or Touch ID & Passcode (on an iPhone with Touch ID).
2. Enter your gadget unlock password.
3. Turn off the toggle switch Today View and search .
Now Spotlight search on the lock screen will only be enabled after successful authorization via Touch ID or Face ID. In other cases, the search call gesture will not work.
