Oppo patents a sliding flexible screen smartphone
Oppo is experimenting with a smartphone form factor: the company has patented a device that would have been called a slider fifteen years ago. However, the gadget now has one screen and is flexible.
When folded, the screen is almost square. But as soon as you pull the device up, the screen becomes much larger. The flexible display is rolled up and unfolds like a projector screen.
A camera with three photosensors is visible on the back, while the front is not visible. Probably, it will be hidden under the display or the patent will still be finalized. Such a device may not see the light at all: companies often patent their developments “in reserve”.
