Qualcomm has introduced a new line of Snapdragon 400 series processors, which are positioned as a solution for cheap mobile phones with 5G support – costing from $ 125 to $ 250. Motorola, OPPO and Xiaomi have already expressed their readiness to launch the release of such devices in 2021 – that’s when mobile devices on the new platform will appear.
Currently, about 80 operators worldwide offer 5G-based services, but there remains a limiting factor – prices for smartphones with support for next-generation networks exceed $ 500. The emergence of budget solutions should spur the development of 5G in the world.
According to Qualcomm forecasts, there will be 1 billion 5G users worldwide by 2023, and there will be 2.8 billion by 2025.
