Samsung’s new flagship turns out to be stronger than the iPhone 11 Pro Max in the drop test

The PhoneBuff YouTube channel has compared the new Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra to the iPhone 11 Pro Max in a series of drop tests. The smartphone from the South Korean company turned out to be more sturdy compared to Apple’s top product.

First, the smartphones were dropped onto the back covers. As a rule, due to protruding camera blocks, such impacts are less tolerated than when dropped onto a flat front side. In the Note20 Ultra, the lid only cracked in the upper left corner, right next to the cameras. At the same time, the glass of the iPhone 11 Pro Max was completely cracked.
Another test is falling to the corner of the smartphone, here the frame plays an important role: if it is strong enough, then the glass panels will withstand. Both devices performed well, with minor scratches remaining on both the iPhone and Note20 Ultra.

But a fall on the front side at a right angle showed the clear superiority of Samsung: neither the first blow, nor the next ten did not lead to cracks – only barely noticeable scratches. Apple’s smartphone gave up after the first fall: the display went like a “cobweb”.
