The new flagship SoC (System-on-Chip) Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 has not yet been released, but engineering samples of devices with it already fall into the hands of insiders.

Authoritative journalist and insider Max Weinbach published the first test of the new Samsung Galaxy S20 + 5G in the GeekBench 5 benchmark.

The results are quite high, but, as another insider noted under the pseudonym Xiaomishka (specializes in Chinese manufacturers), this is not enough to reduce the backlog from the A13 Bionic in the iPhone 11.

Samsung Galaxy S20 + 5G received the first test results for the model with Snapdragon 865. The single-core test showed 923 points, in the multi-core 3267 points, which is completely incomparable with the A13 Bionic and slightly higher than the Kirin 990.

For comparison, in the single-core test, the new Snapdragon 865 scored 923 points, while the A13 Bionic, released last fall, takes the bar 1335 points.

The Snapdragon 865 contains eight Kryo 585 cores with clock speeds of up to 2.84 GHz and an Adreno 650 graphics accelerator.

It is important to note that at the moment we are talking about a prototype, the performance of which can be affected by the non-final version of the software or even differences in design or components. We will learn about the real performance of the new Snapdragon 865 after at least one smartphone with this SoC goes on sale or at least gets tested by journalists. In addition, synthetic tests do not give a complete picture of real performance and may differ from the test results in real applications.

Recall, the announcement of the Galaxy S20 is scheduled for February 11. We have collected all confirmed leaks and insiders in one material.
