According to the Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) report, one of the innovations that will appear in future iPhones will be the advanced display technology installed in the Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max. We are talking about Y-OCTA technology, which allows you to reduce the number of layers in the “sandwich” of the screen of a mobile device – the transfer of touches will be transmitted without an additional layer directly to the panel.

Earlier it was reported that the new screen will be promoted under the name Super Retina XDR, support for 10-bit color depth is expected. A similar “feature” is already implemented in smartphones OnePlus 8 Pro and Oppo Find X2 Pro, and the iPhone 12 Pro Max will pick up the baton of Chinese competitors.

It is also assumed that the screens of the new Apple smartphones, the announcement of which will most likely take place traditionally in September (but a delay until October is possible), will provide an increased level of brightness, as indirectly indicated by the acronym XDR.

The screen size will be 6.68 inches, its resolution is 2778 × 1284 pixels with a pixel density, like the iPhone 11 Pro Max (about 458 ppi).

Apple iPhone 12 Pro, in turn, equipped with a 6.1-inch OLED-screen Samsung, the issue of support for 10-bit color and high brightness remains open.

The iPhone 12 Max is expected to receive a 6.1-inch screen manufactured by BOE and LG Display. Like the iPhone 12 Pro, the iPhone 12 Max will retain the “old” technology for removing touch data – an additional layer will be used instead of Y-OCTA technology. The screen resolution will be 1792 × 828 pixels.

iPhone 12 will go on sale with a 5.4-inch OLED screen manufactured by either Samsung or BOE – sources indicate different manufacturers. Its resolution will be 2340 × 1080 pixels.
