Vivo showed a smartphone with a color-changing back cover
Vivo has announced the development of a smartphone with a color-changing back cover. The company showed the concept of a device with a working color change technology – it changes from colorless to bright blue in a couple of seconds at the press of a button.
So far, the future smartphone has neither a name nor a release date. It can only switch between two colors, and Vivo has used electrochromic glass to change the color, a technology that is often used in architecture.

Electrochromic glass allows you to change the “transparency” and color of the glass, giving it an electrical signal. Often, such glasses are installed in hotels or meeting rooms in offices. Electrochromic glass is also often called “smart” glass.
Vivo was not the first to use it in smartphones, but it was the first to extend it to the entire rear panel. Prior to this, OnePlus showed the Concept One smartphone, the rear cameras of which became “invisible” thanks to the same technology.
