Xiaomi does not want to sell expensive smartphones without 5G
Xiaomi Vice President Lou Weibin announced the company’s new strategy: to abandon the sale of smartphones more than 2 thousand yuan (approximately $ 285) that do not support 5G networks. The first “victim” was the Mi CC9 Pro cameraphone (Mi Note 10), which turned out to be in the top rating of DxOMark mobile cameras thanks to the 108-megapixel module.
Thus, Xiaomi intends to stop sales of not only flagship 4G smartphones, but also mobile phones of the “top middle” segment.
Meanwhile, the Chinese company began distributing an update for Xiaomi Mi CC9 – MIUI 11 based on Android 10. The update takes about 2.3 GB.
