Canon introduced EOS R5 – mirrorless, capable of writing 8K

$ 3899 in the United States will cost a new Canon EOS R5 mirrorless, and with a 24-105mm f / 4 lens – $ 4999. This new addition will complement the line of Canon mirrorless cameras, which consists of a full-frame EOS R and more budget EOS RP. It will also be the manufacturer’s most expensive camera after the 1D X Mark III DSLR.

Canon EOS R5 has a 45-megapixel sensor with a sensitivity of 100-51,200. The main feature is the ability to record video in 8K RAW format at 29.97 frames per second in 10-bit color. At room temperature, you can do about 20 minutes of recording. Then the camera is likely to overheat. So says the manufacturer himself. 4K without crop is recorded at a frequency of 59.94 frames per second.

On a mechanical shutter, the EOS R5 takes 12 shots per second, on an electronic shutter, 20. There is matrix stabilization, dual-pixel autofocus with 100% coverage of the frame area and 1053 zones, as well as the ability to track the eyes of both people and animals and birds.

The EOS R6, which has a 20.1-megapixel sensor from 1D X Mark III, will be slightly cheaper. So everything is limited to shooting video in 4K / 60 fps. The “six” will have less resolution of the viewfinder and screen. For the “carcass” will be asked for $ 2499.
