Coronavirus “ate” more than $ 200 billion capitalization of technology companies

Fears of the spread of coronavirus continue to affect the economy. The largest technology companies Apple, Alphabet, Amazon, Microsoft and Facebook joined the series of victims. Their stock prices plummeted at the beginning of the week, industry titans lost at least 4% of their capitalization, which is more than $ 200 billion.

Apple and Microsoft lost about $ 60 billion each, Amazon and Alphabet (Google’s parent company) each lost $ 40 billion. The market capitalization of Facebook, the “cheapest” of the five, fell by more than $ 25 billion, Business Insider reports .

The day before, the only company that was able to win back the fall was Microsoft.

Apple, recall, is preparing to reduce forecasts for the next reporting period. A similar situation may be with other companies.
