In the first three days, the circulation reached 2.4 million copies.
Earlier, PlayStation Japan reported that in Japan the game exceeded the company’s expectations, and amid demand from the local retailer, there are not enough discs. Later it was reported that in Japanese retail, the samurai action game started better than any other Sony game for the PlayStation 4.
In UK retail, Ghost of Tsushima started at number one about 7% better than Days Gone, Sony’s other new IP.
Compared to other Sony games, God of War had a circulation of 3.1 million copies in the same three days, while Spider-Man had 3.3 million copies. Horizon: Zero Dawn, on the other hand, had 2.6 million in just two weeks.
Ghost of Tsushima is now PS4’s fastest selling first-party original IP debut with more than 2.4 million units sold through globally in its first 3 days of sales.
