Ghost of Tsushima becomes Sony’s fastest selling new IP on PS4

In the first three days, the circulation reached 2.4 million copies.

This was announced on Twitter by PlayStation. For comparison, the circulation of The Last of Us Part II, published a month earlier, amounted to 4 million copies in three days.

Earlier, PlayStation Japan reported that in Japan the game exceeded the company’s expectations, and amid demand from the local retailer, there are not enough discs. Later it was reported that in Japanese retail, the samurai action game started better than any other Sony game for the PlayStation 4.

In UK retail, Ghost of Tsushima started at number one about 7% better than Days Gone, Sony’s other new IP.

Compared to other Sony games, God of War had a circulation of 3.1 million copies in the same three days, while Spider-Man had 3.3 million copies. Horizon: Zero Dawn, on the other hand, had 2.6 million in just two weeks.

Sucker Punch thanked everyone who bought the game on her Twitter.
