GTA IV will return to sale on PC – without Games for Windows Live and multiplayer

On March 19, developers will combine GTA IV and Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City in one edition called Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition – it will appear both on Steam and in Rockstar Launcher.

Owners of the game will be able to transfer their save to the new version, however, the reissue will lose some functions. From it will be removed:

  • Games for Windows Live (because of it, the game was also removed from sale)
  • Multiplayer
  • Leaderboards

Three radio stations will also temporarily disappear from the game:

  • RamJam FM
  • Self-Actualization FM
  • Vice City FM (was available at Episodes from Liberty City)

Players who already own one of the two titles on Steam will have to download the second as an update. Owners of GTA IV will receive a 6-gigabyte update with Episodes from Liberty City, and the owners of “Episodes” will receive a 22-gigabyte with a full game.

Players who purchase GTA IV or an add-on on disk will need to reactivate the key from the box.
