How to disable iPhone slowdown in iOS 11.3

Yes, you read it right. Apple still introduced a feature that disables iPhone slowdown. You only need to install iOS 11.3 beta 2 .

Which iPhones Slowed Down

Automatic performance management takes place on:

  • iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus
  • iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus
  • iPhone SE
  • iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus

When the slowdown turns on

When you first install iOS 11.3 beta 2, the smartphone will not yet know that you need to slow down the processor speed.

The first signal about the need to slow down – the smartphone suddenly turned off (for example, from a cold). The second signal is the battery capacity below 80%.

It is after a sudden reboot that the performance management function is activated (even with a capacity above 80%).

How to check battery capacity

Step 1 . Open Settings -> Battery.

Step 2 . In this section, go to Battery Status (Beta) .

It displays the performance of your smartphone and battery capacity.

Under ideal conditions, you will be greeted by the message: Now the battery supports normal peak performance .

If the situation is bad, you will see: Your battery condition is much worse . After that, iOS will offer to contact an authorized service center.

How to disable iPhone slowdown

If you have a bad battery condition and the iPhone suddenly shuts down, the system will automatically put you into performance management mode.

You will be notified about this in the appropriate section:

The iPhone unexpectedly failed because the battery could not provide the necessary peak power. To prevent a recurrence of this effect, performance management has been applied.

Push it and forget about the brakes!

Attention : after disabling the function, the smartphone will stop braking, but at the same time will continue to turn off in the cold. The next time the device is turned off abruptly, the function is reactivated.

How to disable iPhone slowdown forever

Unfortunately, only one way will help here – replacing the battery with a new one. Apple is offering a replacement battery for $ 29 (for iPhone 6 and newer) by the end of 2018.
