Sound and noise that we encounter every day have a negative impact on hearing. The rumble of aircraft engines, the sound of an approaching metro train, the noise of mechanisms in the workplace – all this can negatively affect hearing.

Which Apple Watch Models Will Fit

How to Measure Noise Using an Apple Watch
- Press Digital Crown to go to the home screen.

The application can monitor the noise level during the day and send notifications if the ambient sound level for more than three minutes exceeds the set threshold.
To configure, do the following:
- On the iPhone, open the Apple Watch app.
- Go to My watch – Noise.
- Turn on the Noise Thresholdand set the desired value for notifications.
You can configure notifications directly on the clock in the Settings – Noise section .
A widget with the current noise level can be added to the watch face. In addition, the data will be accumulated in the Health application on the iPhone.

What noise level is dangerous?
Many experts agree that noise levels below 80 dB do not harm a person’s hearing.
A weekly noise limit of 80 dB is around 40 hours . A day is not recommended to be near the source of such noise for more than 5 hours.
The weekly limit for noise at 85 dB is about 12 hours . At the same time, more than 1.5 hours of exposure to such noise is not desirable.
The noise limit at 90 dB per week should not exceed 4 hours . The daily norm is at the level of 30 minutes.
At a noise level of 95 dB it is better not to be more than 10 minutes, and at a level of 100 dB no more than 2-3 minutes. The weekly limit for such noise is 1 hour and 20 minutes , respectively.
If you are in an area with a noise level of more than 80 dB, it is recommended to use protective equipment or move faster to a quieter place.
