Huawei accused a major mobile operator of patent infringement

Huawei has sued Verizon Communications for breaching proprietary technology. Before going to court, Huawei tried to resolve the issue through negotiations, but to no avail. Verizon allegedly infringed 12 Huawei patents, among them related to security, networks and communications.

Huawei invests annually from 10% to 15% of the money earned in R&D, over the past decade $ 70 billion was allocated for technology development, and only $ 15 billion in 2018. For this reason, we are talking about tens of thousands of patents, TechCrunch writes .

In a statement, the Chinese telecommunications giant notes that Verizon, taking into account revenue of $ 29.8 billion in 2018, made good money on patented technologies.

According to published data, since 2015, Huawei has received $ 1.4 billion in royalties and paid more than $ 6 billion over the same period.
