The Japanese authorities quarantined the cruise ship Diamond Princess, on board of which more than 3.7 thousand passengers. 10 of them found a new coronavirus, writes The Japan Times.

According to the publication, the liner is located near the port city of Yokohama. Japanese Health Minister Katsobu Kato said that only 273 passengers have been tested so far. So far, results have been obtained for only 31 people, of which 10 were recognized as coronavirus. According to the publication, everyone infected is from 50 to 80 years old, but not one of them has serious symptoms of the disease.

Due to the results of the analyzes, the authorities demanded that all passengers be quarantined for two weeks. According to TASS, there are two Russians on the ship.

As of February 5, the number of victims from the new 2019-nCoV coronavirus in China was 490 people. The number of infected is estimated at 24 324 people, and the number of cured – 892.

In Russia, only two cases of the disease have so far been confirmed . Due to the risk of infection, the government closed the border in the Far East. The railway connection to China was also suspended.
