MacRumors reports that the new iPad Pro still does not have a U1 chip for ultra-wideband communications.
Several factors indicate this:
1 . On the Apple website, the U1 chip is indicated only in the specifications of the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro. In TX tablets, they are not.
2 . There is no mention of the chip in the press release or other marketing materials.
3 . AirDrop directional feature is not available on iPad Pro 2020.
Although all this may indicate that Apple just turned off the U1 chip until it becomes more useful. For example, when a company releases AirTags.
IFixit experts said that they have yet to find physical evidence of the presence of the U1 chip. [ MacRumors ]
