Power test of the new 2020 iMac. It is at least 20% faster

The popular Geekbench benchmark shows test results for the 2020 27-inch iMac with a 3.0GHz Intel Core i5 processor and Radeon Pro 5300 graphics.

Judging by the measurements, the new product in multi-core mode works 20% faster than the previous generation. This is because 10th Gen Intel processors provide up to 65% improvement in CPU performance.

The iMac with a clock speed of 3.1 GHz showed pleasant results in Geekbench: 1090 points in single-core and 5688 points in multi-core mode.

Graphics performance was measured using Geekbench Compute benchmarks. Compared to a 2019 iMac with Intel Core i5‌ 3.0GHz and AMD Radeon Pro 570X graphics, the 2020 iMac with a Radeon Pro 530000 performs about 40% better. However, the 2019 iMac with the Radeon Pro Vega 48 is still more powerful than the new product.

A MacRumors reader named Stefan also shared the results of reading and writing the SSD soldered to the motherboard:

It is 2250.2 Mbit / s and 1963.3 Mbit / s, respectively.

UPD 21.31 : A source in Apple service denied information about a soldered SSD.

The resource also added that there were minor changes in the design of the new iMacs. Now there are 2 microphones hidden behind the monitor, whereas in the past there was only one computer. [ MacRumors ]
