PS5 versions of Hitman 3 and No Man’s Sky won’t work through PS VR

On the next generation console, games will only run in VR mode through backward compatibility with PS4.

The information that PS5 versions of Hitman 3 and No Man’s Sky cannot be launched via PS VR, a Sony spokesman confirmed to UploadVR. The company also noted that it has not yet generally “announced PS5 games with PS VR support.”

Thus, to run Hitman 3 and No Man’s Sky on PS5 via PS VR, you will need PS4 versions of both games. Thanks to backward compatibility, they will work on PS5 both in regular mode and in VR. PS4 versions of both games will also receive a free graphics patch on the next generation console.

Along with PS4 versions of games, you will need a special adapter for PlayStation Camera to run them on PS5 via PS VR. Users can get it for free by applying on the Sony website.

The next generation of the PlayStation VR helmet, according to the head of Sony Interactive Entertainment Jim Ryan, the company is going to release no earlier than 2022.
