Samsung revealed Galaxy Fold, the first flexible-screen smartphone

Samsung showed us the Galaxy Fold, the world’s first smartphone with a folding Infinity Flex Display.

The diagonal of 7.3 inches in the open form turns the device into a kind of tablet. When closed, it is a compact smartphone with a 4.3-inch screen.

Samsung has created a flexible screen based on a special polymer layer, the development of which was carried out for 10 years. The screen itself turned out to be almost twice thinner than the screens of ordinary smartphones.

Engineers placed a fingerprint scanner at the end of the case: there is usually a thumb when you hold the device in your hand.

The smartphone will be sold in the colors of Space Silver, Cosmos Black, Martian Green and Astro Blue.

Galaxy Fold has a new generation processor and 12GB of RAM with PC-level performance.

The flexible smartphone is also capable of recharging and simultaneously charging other mobile devices wirelessly, like the Galaxy S10 .

The smartphone has 6 cameras, three of which are located on the back, two on the inside and one on the front side.

Galaxy Fold will be available for pre-order in Russia on the Samsung website in the second quarter of 2019. The price is only in dollars: a unique smartphone will cost $ 1,980.
