Six million people played in Call of Duty: Warzone per day

On their Twitter, developers reported on six million players in the first 24 hours of the March 10 release.

For comparison, Apex Legends online for the same time amounted to two and a half million people. For a month – 50 million. And the number of players in Fortnite BR in the first six weeks exceeded 20 million.

If Warzone keeps its pace, then it can become the fastest growing royal battle. This is largely due to the fact that the game has already formed a brand and a large base of players.

However, analyst Daniel Ahmad emphasized that the shareware model itself has a significant impact on the success of the project – especially when compared to the usual console IPs. The publisher also collaborated with popular streamers who broadcast in the first hours of release.

Call of Duty: Warzone was released March 10 on the PS4, Xbox One and PC. The Battle Royale from Activision brought some new mechanics to the genre like buying equipment with currency, participating in duels after death, and also increasing the total number of players to 150.

Among other things, the developers have added the “Extraction” mode, where the emphasis is on collecting money with subsequent evacuation.
