Images appeared on the network of the prototype of the TCL smartphone, which was supposedly planned to be shown at the MWC exhibition, which was canceled due to coronavirus. A feature of the device is a sliding screen that turns a mobile phone into a tablet. This is its main difference from Motorola Razr, Samsung Galaxy Fold and Z Flip with folding displays.
According to CNET, TCL intended to bring a working prototype of a smartphone to the exhibition. TCL, in turn, does not give any comments.
The idea of mobile devices with sliding screens is not new. In 2012, a similar device was patented by Microsoft. Then the same device was patented by Samsung. Surely there were others, and in 2019, a sliding smartphone with a flexible screen patented Xiaomi.
