Sony: coronavirus did not affect the production of photosensors

Sony published a statement in which it described current affairs during the coronavirus period. In particular, the production of photosensors for mobile cameras is not a threat – and therefore, there should be no problems with deliveries to customers.

At the same time, Sony noted that earlier the pandemic led to the closure of four factories in China, but already on February 10, all work was resumed. Also affected factories in Malaysia and the UK. Despite all this, the release of accessories for cameras was not seriously affected.

Sony is one of the world’s leading suppliers of photo sensors for cameras on mobile devices. Sony’s share in this market is 48%, and Samsung – 21%.
