“Patience is a virtue.”
Joey Chu got the PS5 two days before the console’s November 12 release. Sony also sent him a poster with the following message: “Joey Chu. First in line for PS4. First in line for the PS4 Pro. Patience is a virtue. This is for you. ”
Chu was the first person to buy a PS4 by queuing up two days before November 15, 2013, when the console’s global launch took place in New York. As a reward for his tenacity, he received a PS4 autographed by Andrew House and Jack Tretton, who at the time were respectively head of Sony Computer Entertainment and SCE-America.
Three years later, in November 2016, Joey Chu became the first to buy a PS4 Pro. According to Chu, the hype around the improved version of the console was not as great as when the PS4 started selling, so he managed to acquire the PS4 Pro relatively easily.

For brand loyalty, Sony also portrayed Joey Chu with characters from key PlayStation franchises.
In November 2020, the company also donated the PS5 to Hakam Karim, also known as Hakoom. This is the player who has knocked out the most platinum trophies in the history of the PlayStation – about 2.7 thousand.
