The American company provided advertising space for free.
The NSW Rural Fire Service thanked all the firefighters and volunteers for their support in the fight against forest fires through an announcement in Times Square in New York. About it writes The Sydney Morning Herald.
A fire service ad was placed on the huge screen of the Marriott Marquis Hotel. In this they were helped by the American company Silvercast media, which provided advertising space for free.
The announcement consists of two parts. The first message said, “Thanks to the brave Australian and American firefighters who helped defend Australia and all those who provided support.” The ad is replaced by a wall of fire on the screen with the inscription “Imagine that you are fighting a wall of fire that is higher than this shield.” A billboard is placed at a height of more than 20 meters.
The ad was developed by the New South Wales Rural Fire Department in collaboration with the Sydney-based advertising agency Wunderman Thompson. Fire service spokesman Greg Allan said they wanted to use the billboard to its full potential.
It was an opportunity to thank the firefighters, both here and from abroad, as well as the community not only here in New South Wales, but also throughout the world who have shown their support.
The ad will show on the billboard for the next few weeks. Exact dates are not specified.
Fires in Australia began in July 2019 and continue to this day. At least 27 people were killed and at least 10 million hectares of forests burned.
