The US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has reported the seizure of 2,000 “fake Apple AirPods” from Hong Kong. However, the media recognized the OnePlus Buds headphones in the photos.
A press release from the department claims that the customs service intercepted the goods at the airport in New York. The party was heading to Nevada. If the headphones were genuine, their cost would have been $ 398,000, the agency claims.
The interception of these fake earbuds is a direct reflection of the vigilance and commitment to the success of the mission of our CBP employees.

The agency published images of the intercepted AirPods, and The Verge , TechCrunch and other media recognized the OnePlus Buds in them . Journalists do not claim that all of the 2000 headphones were OnePlus Buds products, but the published photos are likely to represent these devices. At the same time, their total cost is much lower than the cost of AirPods – 158 thousand dollars.
