Astro’s Playroom on DualShock 4.
A short demo was posted on Twitter by VGC author Andy Robinson. He connected to the PS5 using the PS4 over the public network, and then played a little Astro’s Playroom on the DualShock 4.
Apparently, with the help of this application, games from the PS5 can really be played on a gamepad from the current generation console. Sony previously confirmed that the DualShock 4 will not support next gen titles.
Robinson, in turn, noted that playing Astro’s Playroom without DualSence is like playing Wii Sports on the wheel, hinting at important controller features like responsive triggers and detailed vibration feedback.
The PS5 Remote Play app was released to some PS4 users back on November 9th. Sony itself has not officially said anything about it yet.
