WHO recognized coronavirus outbreak of China’s emergency situation

Prior to this, experts said it was too early to sound the alarm.

The World Health Organization has declared an emergency due to the outbreak of a new coronavirus in China. The reason for the decision was called the vulnerability to the virus of countries with a weak health system.

At the same time, the organization recommended not introducing restrictions on the movement of goods and people due to the virus. Countries were also advised to combat disinformation about coronavirus.

On January 23, WHO refused to declare an emergency due to a virus outbreak in China. Then experts noted that so far the problem has not acquired a global character.

In the entire history of the organization, it declared an emergency only five times. Emergencies include events that pose a threat to the international population.
