Solitaire Solitaire is 30 years old. The game was released in 1990 along with Windows 3.0 and even after three decades remains popular – 35 million people play it every month. This is stated on the Xbox Blog.

According to Microsoft, “Kosyna” remains one of the most popular games on the planet: more than 100 million hands are laid out solitaire every day. In honor of the game’s birthday, the company encouraged users to enter the game to break the record for the number of games played per day.

Microsoft Solitaire was released in 1990 as part of Windows 3.0. It was developed by a trainee of the company Wes Cherry, and Susan Car was responsible for the design of the game, who created many elements of the graphical interface of the Mac.

The main goal of Klondike was to teach users how to use a mouse to interact with a computer. Dragging and dropping virtual cards reflected the basic principle of working with Windows with the mouse.

The game is still considered one of the most popular in the world. It shipped by default with more than a billion computers and ceased to be an integrated part of Windows only with the release of Windows 8 in 2012.

Since then, the game could be downloaded as a separate application. But in 2015, it was returned to Windows 10. As of May 2020, Kosyna is available on all major platforms, including Windows , iOS , Android, and the web version .
