Xiaomi agreed to preinstall Russian software on smartphones and other devices

Xiaomi announced its readiness to comply with the requirements of Russian legislation, which presuppose the mandatory pre-installation of domestic software (software) on their gadgets. About it writes RNS.

The company noted that the practice of preinstalling applications from local developers has already been “carefully worked out and is actively used.”

On the eve, Samsung also announced its readiness to preinstall Russian software on smartphones and other devices. The company also noted that it already has experience in cooperation with developers of Russian software.

On December 2, 2019, Putin signed a law on pre-installing Russian software on smartphones, computers, and other electronics. In January, the FAS decided on the date for the law to enter into force: from July 1, pre-installation will be mandatory for smartphones, from July 1, 2021 for tablets, from July 1, 2022 for computers, and from July 1, 2023 for Smart TV.
